Today's my last paper for year 3 semester 1 MST... Today's paper was maths for business.. It was well... pretty easy I must admit.. if not all those who didn't take A-maths will die... Monday's paper was banking law II which was also another straight forward paper... Treasury was on tuesday which was a killer... didn't do so well for my MCQ (20/30)... International Trade was yesterday... but yesterday I felt that exams was over... to the extent that my gang and I decided to go to The Catay for dinner... We ate at this place called Astons.. great western food at affordable prices... The steak prices ranged from $11.90 to about $40 plus which comes with 2 side-orders... Ate the prime ribeye steak.. Really nice... =D
Today after maths paper, Seon Saeng Nim, Eveline and I went to 313@Somerset and Ion Orchard... Went to see Uniqlo and HMV... The Christmas decorations along Orchard Road was beautifully decorated.. (Too bad I didn't bring a camera...)

The achievers' function was held on the 2nd Decemeber. This function is to award students who performed well in the academics and other activities like competitions, spots, community services etc. Year 3 students were invited as this event is also somewhat like an early graduation ceremony for us. The function was great with my classmates' performance (lots of hidden talents... i didn't know my friend could moon-walk and dance to the tunes of the late Michael Jackson's songs)... We also had a chance to see some teachers performing (Mr Dennis Sim and Mr Caleb Lye).. and also not forgetting our friends who received certificates..

Finally the day I have been waiting for... The AFA 2009!! This year's event was most costly and of a bigger scale than the previous year probably because of the events that they had planned out. I was at city hall MRT station at 10am because I had to mark attendance for my club. We moved off as a club at 10.30am and I was anxious to get to Suntec Convention Hall because I did not buy the ticket before hand and was afraid that there will be a long queue. But to my surprise, there was no queue and we bought the tickets easily. We entered the hall and I was amazed by the number of shops... They had 2-3 times the number of shops last year and the stage was separated from the shops. We went to find the rest of our members and they were located near this karaoke stall where you are able to select a song and sing along. My friend and I took the chance to pick a song to sing. It was loads of fun!!

Melvin Cosplaying one of the characters in Hitman Reborn..
After that, I went to the stage area to catch KANAME... a famous Cosplayer in Japan. And yes, he is good looking!! (*Many girls were going crazy over him!!!*) Took many shots of him cosplaying different characters. I really like how meticulous he is. He is able to bring the Anime character to life by making sure that the hair, make-up, clothes are perfect. My favourite photo of him has got to be ACE from One piece... (LOOK SO REAL LAH!!) It is amazing how someone can make a job out of cosplaying.
KANAME SAMA!!

Cloud and Ichigo Cosplay.. SUGOI!!! Look like the real thing!

Great Stuff!!

My favourite one is KANAME cosplaying ACE!!

After that, we had a one hour plus break before the live dubbing of the Anime series K-on. Many people were looking forward for this event because it was the first time for the seiyuus of K-on to appear outside of Japan. To kill time, I went walking around the stalls. They were selling from figurines, soft toys, t-shirts, towels, key chains to even pillow cases. They also had something new this year which was the maid cafe. Many guys were there.. (DUH!) but the prices of the food/drinks were expensive so I guess people who go there are those to take pictures with the kawaii maids.

At 1.15pm, we were standing around the stage, waiting anxiously for the seiyuus of K-on to appear. No photography and video recording was allowed so I could not take any pictures! When the seiyuus appeared, cheers of joy engulfed the whole stage. It was great seeing live-dubbing for the first time. The seiyuus really sounded exactly the same so I find it super amazing!! Although I did not finish watching K-on, I managed to recognise the characters. Fans who sat at the front of the stage had a chance to win a signature board each from the 4 seiyuus. (LUCKY THEM!!)..

K-ON Live Dubbing!!

All the above Seiyuus came... Great Stuff!
Shortly after this, I took photographs of several cosplayers inside and outside the hall and went home. Hopefully they will bring more singers like YUI, UVERworld, STEREOPONY to host concerts for next year's AFA.

On 21st Nov was the JAS OPEN HOUSE & CHARITY BAZAAR. I went for this event instead of AFA 2009. We met up at school at 12pm and made our way by bus to JAS. The event was pretty big and we had a chance to walk around the area. The 1st floor made up of stalls selling from food, accessories, kitchen ware etc etc. They also had a balloon sculpturing stall. We decided to go for the tea ceremony (Ura Senke) at 2pm. It was different from the previous tea ceremonies that I had participated and I enjoyed it very much. I didn't stay for very long as I was pretty tired. I left around 3 plus and looked forward to going to AFA tomorrow!!

Chin Xiang, Hong De and I formed one team and went for this Junior Achievement Titan Workshop and Competition. Both the workshop and Competition was held in HSR Building at Toa Payoh. The workshop commenced on 19th Nov from 9am to 5pm. As such, we had to apply for LOA and skipped the whole day... was quite bummed that I had to skip Banking Law tutorial T__T! The workshop's duration was pretty long as they had many lectures on how to manage and run an efficient business. We had 2 tea breaks and a lunch break (food was great! YUM!) We only played the trial game for an hour or so against each other (SP teams were grouped together for the try outs).
The next day was the actual competition. Our team's goal was to qualify for the finals. We breezed through the qualifying rounds and was 1st. 4 SP teams made it to the finals. During the finals, there were some controversy that happened. ZJ's team was suddently made bankrupt and he confronted the admin about it. But the stupid thing was even they themselves don't understand why ZJ's team was made bankrupt. ZJ demanded a rematch which created tension amongst the other groups. After a long debate, the teams were asked to vote whether to restart or continue on the game. In the end, the game was restarted and we had to start all over again. We only played for 11 quarters which was short for a finals and the game was called to an end. We felt it was unfair because we played 14-15 rounds during the qualification round and we expected a much longer duration for the finals. Overall, my team came in 6th but we did have fun during the game. The game was much easier than SIM management game and it was pretty interactive with the graphics. We were awarded with certificates and a box of chocolate.
After the game, Chin Xiang and I had to rush back for FP presentation.

On Wednesday 18th Nov, our BD group plus Zeng Liang decided to go to K-box to celebrate Ryan's birthday at night. Before that, I went to school for this career and further education fair to ask information regarding the courses and application procedures of the various local universities. All 4 local universities had a booth at the convention centre and I took the time to ask them questions. After that, we met up together at clementi at 5 plus and had our dinner at Sumo house. We started our k session at 7pm. Everybody had a great time singing! Ryan was stunned when we brought in a birthday cake and presented him his present, which is a adidas jersey with his name and the number 19 which signifies his age! After 10pm, we didn't wanted to leave and continued singing as we left the place.

On 10th Nov is the 3rd Anniversary of JCC.. In order to celebrate this prestigious event, we decided to have dinner at Ramen10 at the new Clementi Shopping Centre. We met up in school at 6pm and made our way via MRT. But the MRT had some delay and the 3 of us (me, Sheng Yang and Daniel) decided to take the bus instead. We reached the place earlier than the rest and the staff was kind enough to give us practically 1/3 of their restaurant (we had 38 people on that day!).. We ate alots of sushis.. (Unagi, Mushroom, Crabmeat, Inari etc).. It was a fun gathering.. Enjoyed myself!
